The Edo brooms offered here are crafted by the supremely skilled and experienced artisans of Shirokiya Denbei, a small company that has been specializing in their production since 1830. Using fine-quality summer cypress produced in limited quantities in Japan, or imported cypress of equally high quality, the artisans employ a unique traditional weaving method that yields an ideal balance between lightweight convenience and durable strength. Edo brooms are intended for indoor use only, giving wood floors a waxed look with everyday usage. They are completely eco-friendly.HAND MADE IN JAPAN

 

 

 

Seiichi Takagi lovingly crafts each Edo broom by hand, selecting the finest natural materials and maintaining time-honored weaving techniques.

Proper handling:● Always store the broom in a hanging position; failure to hang the broom may cause the whisks to curl. ● Do not store the broom in a tightly sealed location. Allow it to "breathe." ● In the event the broom becomes moldy, wipe it with a dry or slightly damp cloth, then hang it in the open and allow it to dry thoroughly.
Recommended usage:This item is intended for indoor use only.
Shape restoration:If the broom curls or otherwise loses its original shape, wash it thoroughly (do not use detergents) and return the whisks to their original straightness. Then hang the broom in the open and allow it to dry thoroughly.
