 This handcrafted spatula is made from hinoki cypress wood at least three centuries old. Compared to Western-style wooden cooking spoons, it's remarkably lightweight. For ease of use in dispensing rice, it’s coated with a thin layer of natural beeswax. HAND MADE IN JAPAN

Proper handling:● To clean the Spatula, wash gently in cold or warm water. Do not use hot water or detergent, and avoid use of a dishwasher. ● Do not allow the Spatula to stand in water for a long time. ● To dry, allow the Spatula to stand in a well-ventilated area, out of direct sunlight, for more than 24 hours. Drying in direct sunlight may cause warping of the wood.
Recommended usage:● To reduce stains to clinger, rinse in cold or warm water and then drain off before every usage. ● To prevent the rice from sticking to the spatula, rinse the spatula in cold or warm water before using.

To prevent warping, the cypress wood is set out and dried naturally for an extended period.

The container, lid and spatula are handcrafted from domestic sawara cypress wood at least 300 years old. The wood has a natural antibacterial property.
