Terms & Conditions



Ordering is fast and easy. Once you find an item you wish to order, simply click the accompanying “Add to Cart” button. Continue your shopping until you have everything in your cart that you want. Then proceed to steps 2 through 4 and supply the information requested. At step 5, instructions will appear to guide you through the payment process.

Payment is accepted only through PayPal. At step 5, click on the “PayPal” button, and you will automatically be directed to YAQMO’s PayPal account, where you will see instructions for completing your payment. You don’t have to have a PayPal account of your own (although opening an account is easy and convenient). You can pay into PayPal on the spot by providing your credit card information, or using PayPal’s other payment options.

For ordered items in stock, shipment will be made as soon as YAQMO has confirmed receipt of your payment into its PayPal account. For items crafted on demand, once payment is confirmed YAQMO will immediately contact the artisan to begin crafting the ordered item. We regret that once payment has been completed, an order cannot be canceled. Please note that if no confirmation of payment through PayPal is received, the order is automatically canceled.

Cancellation by the seller

YAQMO reserves the right to cancel an order before shipment if one or more of the following conditions applies:

•  The artisan becomes unable to continue his craftwork for any reason.
•  Stock of the ordered item becomes depleted and additional orders cannot, for any reason, be taken.
•  The buyer’s credit card is declined by the financial institution.
•  An error is found in the buyer’s billing information.


As indicated on the website, all prices are shown in Japanese yen (JPY). The amount charged in the buyer's local currency will reflect the exchange rate effective at the time of purchase or at the time the credit transaction is actually processed. For specific details, including any service charges that may be imposed, please contact your credit card company.



Payment must be completed at the time an item is ordered. All payments must be processed through PayPal.


Handling Charge

Handling charge is included in delivery cost.



Delivery Times:

All items ordered through this website are shipped directly from Japan.

Normally, orders for items in stock can be expected to arrive at the destination address within 2-3 weeks after confirmation of payment. Once the package has been shipped, you will be sent a “Track and Trace” number by email.

If YAQMO determines that delivery of the ordered item within the promised timeframe has become impossible, we will contact you via email.

•  Crafted-on-demand items are shipped after they are completed. The estimated production period is provided in the information relating to each item. Please note that because items are crafted sequentially as orders are received, sometimes production may take longer than usual. You will be notified by email in the case of any significant delay in the projected production schedule.

Shipping Method:

All items are packed with extreme care and shipped through Japan Post’s Express Mail Service (EMS), which is Japan’s most reliable postal service. Other shipping methods are not available at this time. Orders cannot be sent to countries not served by EMS. (For details, refer to the Japan Post website)

Because packages are shipped to the address provided by the purchaser, please make doubly sure the address is correctly typed in. Address errors or refused deliveries may result in extra costs. To ensure safe delivery, all packages must be signed for upon receipt, so we strongly advise you provide an address where someone can sign for the package during regular daytime delivery hours. Shipments will not be sent to post office boxes, etc.

Please note that the recipient is responsible for any import taxes that may be charged. Details are provided below.

YAQMO makes every effort to ensure that the buyer will be completely satisfied with his purchase. Extreme care is taken in all phases from merchandise management to inspection and packaging.

About Product Returns:

Product returns will be accepted within 30 days from receipt only if they are returned unused and in the exact condition in which they were originally sent (including bag, box, tags, etc.). Before requesting to return or exchange an item, authorization (including an authorization number) must be received from YAQMO. Any returns or exchanges resulting from an error on YAQMO’s part will be shipped at YAQMO’s expense. Expenses incurred for returns or exchanges for any reason not relating to YAQMO will be borne by the purchaser. When shipping a product for return or exchange, the purchaser should be sure to use a reliable shipping service and to insure the package. Refunds or exchanges cannot be made if the returned item has been damaged or altered in any way before arriving at our Customer Service Center.

Because all products offered on this website are individually crafted by the artisan, the final product may differ slightly in color, design, etc. from the photos provided. Items may also vary slightly in their exact size, weight, etc. Please note that these individual touches are a special feature of handcrafted articles and are part of their uniqueness. YAQMO cannot accept requests for returns or exchanges of items for reasons such as these.

Please note that requests for returns or exchanges of crafted-on-demand items cannot be accepted.

Regarding any damages incurred during shipment, please refer to the information provided below.

As a safeguard against potential abuse, YAQMO reserves the right to deny a refund to anyone who has made what we determine to be excessive returns.


Import Taxes and Duties

Items purchased through this website may be subject to customs duties and/or other fees in the destination country. Any and all such additional costs are entirely the responsibility of the purchaser. If a package is held or denied by the local customs authority, or if the purchaser or recipient refuses a package because of duty fees or for any other reason, YAQMO cannot issue a refund, whole or partial, against the full order price and shipping costs. YAQMO also cannot honor any requests to alter the declared value of an order. For further information regarding any possible duties and/or fees in the country of delivery, contact your local customs office.



Packages sent by YAQMO are insured against damage, loss or theft during shipment. Please note, however, that to be insured, the package must be opened and the item checked in the presence of the postal officer making the delivery. Subsequent claims against damage, loss or theft are not covered after the delivery has been accepted. 

In the event that a package arrives damaged, the recipient should have the postal officer making the delivery confirm the damage and prepare a report. The recipient should immediately notify YAQMO of the situation by email. YAQMO will make the necessary inquiries with the postal authority in Japan and then contact the recipient. YAQMO will replace the damaged item with as similar an item as possible. Subsequent shipping costs will be borne by YAQMO.


Sending Items to a Third Party

If a purchased item is to be sent to a party other than the individual placing the order, YAQMO will not bear responsibility for any problems that might result from the recipient's refusal to accept the package, etc. The purchaser should at all times confirm the following with the recipient before placing an order:

•  The recipient may be responsible for payment of import taxes, duties, etc. imposed by his country.
•  Some countries may not allow certain items to be imported. In case of doubt, the purchaser and/or recipient should check with the appropriate authority in advance.
•  Insurance claims against any damage to the goods received will be processed only if the recipient checks the item immediately upon receipt. No subsequent reports of damage will be honored.
•  If the third-party recipient is a company, the full name of the contact person should be provided.
